This is the most commonly used valve for generic dosing applications. It is a valve which offers a number of advantages.
- Cost – it is generally cheaper to buy and install than other types of dosing valve as it has many components in common with our range of Compact series butterfly valves
- It is fluid tight from upstream to downstream in the closed position
- It is always fluid tight from inside to outside
- Easy maintenance
The valve is powered by 180° pneumatic actuator, and so the product discharge rate that can be achieved is limited by the number of cycles of the actuator. The pocket volumes can be reduced. This is useful where the volume throughput required is not large but a large valve size is dictated by the chute diameter of the host system. This modification is also useful in cases where the product being handled tends to stickiness, as the shallower pockets fill and empty better.
